Features
- Three lamps in one housing: low beam, front position lamp and front turn signal share one unit, so each front corner of the truck needs one lamp, one mounting point and one connector.
- Seen by people on foot: the front position lamp and the low beam make an approaching lift truck easier to notice for pedestrians and other drivers in the same aisle or yard.
- Daylight white light: the 5000 K LEDs give a neutral white close to daylight, which helps the operator read labels, floor markings and obstacles.
- No bulbs to replace: solid-state LEDs have no filament to break under shock and vibration, which removes a routine maintenance task and the downtime that goes with it.
- Sealed to IP67: dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion, for trucks that move between the warehouse, the yard and the quayside in all weather.
- Die-cast aluminium body: a metal housing behind a hard-coated lens, built for the knocks and vibration of daily material handling work.
- Weatherproof plug-in connection: an integrated 4-pin Deutsch DT socket replaces loose bulb holders and spliced wires.
What is an LED forklift headlight?
An LED forklift headlight is a front lamp for lift trucks and other material handling vehicles. It lights the travel path and marks the front of the truck. Model 515 is a 4 x 8 inch multifunction unit: a low beam for driving, a front position lamp that shows where the truck is, and a front turn signal, all in one housing.
Many sites need such lamps by rule, not by choice. In the United States, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(h)(2) requires auxiliary directional lighting on a powered industrial truck wherever the general lighting is less than 2 lumens per square foot. The lamp is part of our LED headlights range for specialist and industrial vehicles.
Red wire. Lights the travel path. Approval: UN R113.
White wire. Marks the front of the truck. Approval: UN R7.
Yellow wire. Flashes with the direction indicators. Approval: UN R6.

Light the Travel Path and Mark the Truck
Lift trucks share aisles, docks and yards with people on foot, often in poor light and on night shifts. The low beam shows the operator the floor, racking and obstacles ahead. The front position lamp and turn signal show everyone else where the truck is and where it is about to go.
The 12V to 48V input lets one part number serve a mixed fleet of combustion and battery-electric trucks in warehouses, ports, airfields and military logistics depots. The ECE approvals of each function suit fleets that operate in ECE markets. Model 515 lights the travel path; for the load and the forks, add dedicated work lights. For other signal functions on the truck, see our LED signal lights.
Part Numbers and Ordering
| Part No. | Voltage | Functions | Bezel | Traffic Orientation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0548901 | 12 to 48V | Low Beam, Turn Signal, Front Position | Black | ECE RHT |
| 0549201 | 12 to 48V | Low Beam, Turn Signal, Front Position | Chrome | ECE RHT |
The lamp bolts to the front of the truck with two M6 bolts. When ordering, state the part number for each bezel, the quantity and whether you need DT06-4S mating plugs. If the truck’s system voltage is above 48V, ask us before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Choose by the electrical system and the beams you need. Model 515 has no high beam, but it accepts 12V to 48V and so covers trucks that run on 36V or 48V. Our LED rectangular headlights (Model 9800) add a high beam and a heated lens option, but they run on 12V or 24V DC only.
It can, if the truck has a flasher relay designed for bulbs. An LED draws far less current than a filament bulb, and a load-sensing flasher may read this as a failed lamp and flash fast. The usual fix is an LED-compatible electronic flasher, or load resistors where the flasher cannot be changed. See our guide to hyper flashing with LED lights.
The low beam is approved to UN Regulation No. 113, the regulation for headlamps with a symmetrical passing beam. A symmetrical beam is not angled towards one side of the road, unlike the asymmetrical dipped beam of a car headlamp, so the beam pattern itself suits both right-hand and left-hand traffic. The part number table lists both versions as ECE RHT, so confirm the version with us if your fleet operates in left-hand traffic.
