Choosing the right wavelength depends on the type of evidence you want to detect. Different materials respond differently to light, so using the correct wavelength improves visibility and accuracy.
-
365 nm (UV)
Best for general detection of fluorescent evidence such as biological fluids, fibers and residues. -
470 nm (Blue)
Ideal for biological traces like blood with fluorescein, as well as fibers and gunshot residue. -
495 nm (Cyan)
Great for enhancing contrast and detecting fingerprints with fluorescent powders. -
525 nm (Green)
Effective for fingerprint detection and detailed surface inspection.
Quick tip: start with UV for scanning, then switch to blue, cyan or green depending on the evidence and environment.
