Features
- VAS shroud ready: Fits helmets with a VAS (Visual Augmentation System) shroud, so it suits current shroud-equipped helmet fleets.
- Eight-way adjustment: A wider adjustment range than comparable mounts, according to GSCI, so each operator can set the device to their own eye and helmet.
- Dovetail and bayonet brackets: One mount design serves devices with either interface, which simplifies a helmet standard across goggles and monoculars.
- Flip to stow: The device flips up out of the line of sight when it is not needed and is lowered again in one movement.
- Automatic on/off: Compatible devices switch off when flipped up and on when lowered, which saves battery power between observations.
- Breakaway function: Lets the device release under a strong impact or snag instead of passing the full load to the helmet.
- Low profile: Keeps the device close to the helmet, with fewer snag points when moving through vehicles, doorways and vegetation.
- Quick to fit and remove: Installs and detaches quickly for set-up, transfer between helmets and maintenance.
Why the GR8 Keeps the Device in Front of the Eye
A helmet mount decides whether a night vision device stays usable for a full night. If the eyepiece sits too high, too low or too far from the eye, the operator loses field of view and tires quickly. The GR8 offers 27 mm of height travel, 45 mm of eye relief travel and 0 to 17° of tilt, so the device is set to the user rather than the user adapting to the device.
At 166 g in 6061-T6 aluminium, the GR8 adds little to the front load of the helmet. Heavier set-ups such as dual-tube goggles can be balanced with the MVP-240 battery pack, which also serves as a helmet counterweight and powers night vision goggles for up to 240 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
The GR8 is designed for helmets with a VAS shroud, and GSCI states full compatibility with VAS shrouds. If your helmets use a different shroud, send us the helmet and shroud model with your quotation request so the fit can be checked before you order.
Yes. A monocular is connected to the GR8 with the GSCI J-Arm, an adapter interface for monoculars. The LUX-14 lists both the GR8 and the J-Arm as optional accessories, so order the three items together for a complete helmet set.
The GR8 is made in Canada and is stated to be ITAR-free, so it contains no US ITAR-controlled content that would need US approval for re-export. The export and end-user rules of your own country still apply, so please name the end user and destination in your quotation request.
